Job Summary:

The Canadian Red Cross is seeking a Medical Equipment Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining medical equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect medical equipment to identify any defects or malfunctions
  • Repair and maintain medical equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
  • Clean and disinfect medical equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
  • Deliver medical equipment to clients and install it according to procedures
  • Provide instructions and support to clients on the use and maintenance of medical equipment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to use manual and electrical tools
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 35 kg (80 lb)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience working with volunteers and diverse populations is an asset
  • Valid driver's license in British Columbia

Working Conditions:

  • 35-hour workweek, Monday to Friday
  • Variety of tasks, including work at the warehouse, delivery to various program sites, and installation at client homes
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods and drive safely
