Medical Transcription Specialist

Island Health seeks a highly skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 diploma and completion of an approved medical transcription program, as well as one year of recent experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key Responsibilities- Transcribe medical dictations with high accuracy and speed, meeting the required 60 wpm standard.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and colleagues through verbal and written correspondence.
- Develop strong relationships with team members and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and information exchange.
- Perform physical tasks associated with the role, adhering to Island Health's health and safety protocols.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines and maintain productivity.
- Operate relevant equipment and software to support transcription tasks.
The successful candidate will possess excellent keyboarding skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and the physical stamina to perform the duties of the position.
