Job Summary

Lafarge Construction is seeking a skilled Loader Operator to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a Loader Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining heavy equipment, ensuring the safety of company personnel, the community, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain front-end wheel loaders, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Assist the plant operator with daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
  • Perform repair and maintenance on the plant under the direction of the plant foreman or lead hand.
  • Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and the environment.
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment checklists and monitoring accurate weights.
  • Monitor material production within specifications and ensure consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork and seek out and implement best practices.

Safety and Environment

  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental practices and policies.
  • Contain and report any spills immediately.

Maintenance

  • Operate and perform routine maintenance on the loader, including washing and cleaning the operator's cab, greasing, refueling, changing oil and filters, and maintaining all fluid levels.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all equipment service records.

Requirements

  • Safety-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Able to lift 55 lbs and work unsupervised.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and at least 2 years of experience operating a loader.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to read survey markings.
