About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at Young Boy Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply coats of compound to drywall surfaces and sand to a smooth finish
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering and mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Finish corners and angles, create decorative designs in the finish coat, and smooth out excess compound
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, and position and secure them to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound, and spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied, and utilize a laser alignment system
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of quality in your work
Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in drywall finishing or a related trade
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High school diploma or equivalent
