About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team at CHAHAL DRYWALL (2008) LTD. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for applying successive coats of compound and sanding seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Level and smooth coats of plaster to create a seamless surface
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
  • Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
Work Environment

As a Drywall Taper, you will work in a fast-paced commercial and residential construction environment. You will be exposed to dusty and noisy conditions, and will be required to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in drywall finishing
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Dependability, judgement, reliability, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position with 40 hours of work per week. The work language is English.
