About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Guidance Counsellor to join our team at the Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board. As a Guidance Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Guidance Services: Participate in the development and implementation of a school and career guidance service, ensuring alignment with academic and administrative requirements.
  • Support School Teams: Collaborate with guidance counselors in schools to provide file evaluations, intervention planning, and student placement support.
  • Consult with School Teams: Consult with school teams on various programs, pathways, and the TEVA approach, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Identify and Leverage Resources: Identify resources available for TEVA within and outside the school board, and establish partnerships to support student development.
  • Provide Training and Awareness: Prepare and conduct awareness, information, and training activities for personnel involved in programs such as TEVA, Career Choice Education, and Learning-Oriented Approach.
  • Establish and Maintain Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with partners involved in programs, providing advice and information to support student success.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Inform relevant organizations of resources and services available within the school board and educational institutions.
  • Represent the School Board: Represent the school board to partners, facilitate specialized meetings, and coordinate the work of involved groups.
  • Evaluate and Improve: Evaluate TEVA-related activities, produce reports, and make recommendations for improvement to support student development.
  • Collaborate with External Partners: Collaborate with representatives from the job market and other organizations to provide student orientation and support.
  • Provide Expertise and Advice: Advise management personnel, prepare expertise reports, and make recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Attend Meetings and Conferences: Attend provincial meetings regarding TEVA and WOTP, as well as participate in educational service activities and meetings.
  • Maintain Records and Reports: Prepare and update records according to established standards, providing progress reports and follow-up reports on interventions.
