Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our team at CAA Club Group. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in evaluating, selecting, and pricing policies to ensure a profitable book of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and analyze policy data to ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with brokers and customers to enhance understanding of the target market and contribute to quality service and risk selection
  • Monitor trends and developments in areas of concern such as loss ratios, risk trends, or other discrepancies
  • Apply best business practices towards compliance, internal control, and operational risk controls
  • Participate in the communication and education of brokers concerning the corporate underwriting philosophy, policies, and procedures

Requirements

  • Post-secondary school education and/or equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Attained or working towards completing courses towards the CIP and CRM designation
  • A minimum of 3-5 years fleet underwriting experience in long haul trucking is required
  • Working knowledge of underwriting techniques, guidelines, rating programs, risk information sources, coverages, underwriting/technical knowledge, and computer workflow procedures
  • Strong computer skills including Outlook, Word, and Excel
