Avalanche Mitigation Specialist

At Alpine Solutions Avalanche Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Avalanche Mitigation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in avalanche observation and control, with experience in maintaining equipment and instruments, processing data, and participating in field checks and verification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and operate specialized equipment, including remote sensing equipment
  • Process and analyze data to conduct basic analyses of trends
  • Participate in field checks and verification to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
  • Collaborate with team members to forecast and control avalanches in mountainous terrain
  • Perform data entry and verify accuracy of data
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in avalanche observation and control
  • Strong knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
  • Ability to work under pressure and in physically demanding environments
  • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
Work Environment:

Our Avalanche Mitigation Specialist will work in a variety of locations, including remote areas, and will be required to work under pressure and in physically demanding environments.
