Retail Buyer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to join our team at Royal Furniture and Mattress. As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing and managing merchandise for resale.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure visually appealing store displays.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Negotiate transportation arrangements with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
  • Oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets to ensure efficient inventory management.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as quality, price, and brand reputation.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
