Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Student Transportation Assistant. This role requires a self-directed team player who can provide support and encouragement to students with diverse learning needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting students between the Barrhead area and Barrhead Composite High School, providing daily support and assistance as needed. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and be part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily transportation and support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Establish positive relationships with students and staff to create a supportive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher, special education lead teacher, and consultants to ensure student success
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with students, staff, and parents
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Experience working with behaviorally challenged and non-verbal students
  • Ability to set clear boundaries, communicate effectively, and work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a flexible learning environment
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to help students succeed
