About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hydro Tech Inc. as a Hydroelectric Project Engineer. This is a permanent position that requires a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in the hydroelectric industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and analysis to determine the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems and components.
  • Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems, including equipment and facilities.
  • Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems and develop solutions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers, reviewing and approving designs, calculations, and cost estimates.
  • Assess business opportunities and develop strategies to drive growth and innovation.
  • Develop risk management plans to mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead and instruct groups to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation.
  • Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association.
  • Strong knowledge of SolidWorks software, AutoCAD, MS Windows, MS Office, MS Excel, and Primavera.
  • Experience in the hydroelectric industry, including installation, maintenance, and inspection of equipment and facilities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel, with a valid driver's license and willingness to relocate for this position.
