About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team at Saint-Gobain Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and machinery.

Job Summary

This is a Maintenance Specialist opportunity that requires a high level of technical expertise and problem-solving skills. You will work closely with our production team to identify and resolve mechanical issues, perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks, and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including PM work and repairs
  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical issues, using precision tools such as Vernier calipers and micrometers
  • Work with preventative maintenance programs to maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machineries
  • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhauls or maintenance
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment, including mixers, saws, and conveyors
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment in breakdown situations
  • Participate in World Class Manufacturing initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology
  • Valid Maintenance Millwright license/certification in Manitoba
  • 1-5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of machine shop practices, power tools, and bearings
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Experience with CMMS and SAP systems
