Job Title: Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer to join our team at RGBSI. As a key member of our workforce management and staffing division, you will be responsible for working with customers to define test requests, obtaining buy-in from local management for cost, timing, material, and headcount requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct corrosion vehicle teardowns and e-coat vehicle dissections, documenting issues and concerns.
  • Instruct a team of technicians and co-op students in the teardown and dissection process.
  • Design and use various hydraulic and mechanical testing equipment to meet customer requests.
  • Collect and analyze data related to Elastomeric based vehicle components, including film thickness readings, metal loss readings, and laser scanning.
  • Communicate effectively with product engineers to report and document test results.
  • Coordinate and ship specimens and samples to various product engineers and suppliers.
  • Work with external suppliers to lead dissections of various components, track budgets, and generate purchase orders.
Requirements:
  • Minimum + years of experience in the effects of corrosion on various metal alloys/compositions.
  • Knowledge of vehicle body, chassis, and suspension systems.
  • Competency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Team Center and NX knowledge is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to the USA.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Previous experience in paint and corrosion evaluation is desirable.
  • Engineering experience within the automotive industry, testing experience preferred.
  • Will consider new graduates with related co-op experience.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Good communication and leadership skills to coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics.
Education:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive/Material Engineering from an accredited university.
