Job Summary:

As a 310T Mechanic with First Student, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our fleet of school buses. Your expertise will be essential in diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle issues, as well as providing guidance and training to junior mechanics.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, year-round position that offers a competitive hourly rate of $41 based on experience and qualifications. You will be part of a team that values safety, innovation, and customer satisfaction. As a 310T Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing accurate and efficient repairs on school buses, including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, and drive trains.
  • Leading preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Ensuring work orders are completed properly and accurately, and maintaining records of all maintenance work completed.
  • Notifying supervisors of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Adhering to First Student standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid 310T Mechanic license.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • An appropriate mechanic's tool set.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
