Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Railway Equipment Operator to join our team for the 2024 maintenance and construction season. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing moderate to heavy physical labor, building and maintaining the track, and handling surrounding materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Replace and repair various track components, including rails, railway ties, fences, and adjust the alignment and surface of the track.
  • Respond to emergencies and track outages in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all Remcan and customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of railway industry and heavy equipment operating.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license and ability to produce a driver's abstract.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating railway heavy equipment on-and-off track.
  • Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR).
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Must pass eRailSafe Canada certification.
  • Able to work unsupervised as well as in teams.
  • Able to work various shifts, including weekends and night shifts.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions all year round.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required.
