Spirit Ridge Resort is a unique destination located in the heart of wine country, offering a range of amenities including a golf course, two pools, beachfront water sports, an onsite winery, and a first nations cultural center.

Job Summary

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring that all common areas and rooms meet our resort's high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate a team of housekeeping staff, including Room Attendants, Supervisors, House Persons, Public Spaces Attendants, Pool Attendants, and Laundry Attendants.
  • Be a visible leader, supporting laundry and housekeeping staff in their duties and ensuring that all common areas and rooms meet our resort's standards.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and prepare purchase requisitions as needed.
  • Supervise staff and plan and coordinate activities of department workers.
  • Assist management in establishing and implementing operational procedures for the housekeeping department.
  • Co-ordinate inspection of assigned areas and ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met.
  • Assist in conducting performance evaluations and appraisals.
  • Schedule and assign duties of housekeeping staff.
  • Ensure that local health and sanitation regulations are carried out.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Liaise with maintenance team members to ensure that the property is well-maintained.
  • Assist Front Office in overseeing emergency situations that may arise during the shift.
  • Train, supervise, motivate, and coach housekeeping staff to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver exceptional service.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of leadership experience and training in a luxury hotel or condo environment.
  • Fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, large workload, ability to handle weight up to 23kgs.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, dependability, initiative, judgement, organized, team player, reliability, comfortable using computers and technology.
