About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Andrew's Pharmacy. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct activities of other medical technologists or technicians, ensuring efficient and safe work practices.
  • Clean and maintain equipment to prevent contamination and ensure optimal performance.
  • Compound, package, and label pharmaceutical products with precision and accuracy.
  • Help with scheduling and workflow to optimize patient care and staff efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Bill third-party insurers for services rendered, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Compound oral solutions, ointments, and creams with attention to detail and quality.
  • Process claims for health insurance or workers' compensation, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Maintain supplies and inventory levels to prevent stockouts and waste.
  • Interpret physician's specifications to ensure accurate and safe medication preparation.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment to prevent obsolescence and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform general clerical duties to support the smooth operation of the pharmacy.
  • Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas to prevent contamination and ensure optimal performance.
  • Order supplies and equipment to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Organize and maintain inventory to prevent stockouts and waste.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments to ensure timely and efficient patient care.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in providing excellent patient care.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check is required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks with a high level of dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and perform tasks that require attention to detail.
