The Automation Leader Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Leader to join our team at the Heritage facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Automation strategy, which includes manpower resource planning, disaster recovery planning, production support, department training, and budget planning.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting our plant to improve equipment efficiency and contribute to a dynamic working environment. We are looking for a motivated individual with a background in engineering, manufacturing operations, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement the Automation strategy for the Heritage facility.
  2. Lead and support the Automation team to align with the Automation strategy plan.
  3. Support and backup plan for all plant Control and Automation systems, including PLC, PC, HMI, MES, SCADA, Robotics, and Building Automation.
  4. Manage the Instrumentation program to meet facility FSQA, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  5. Develop Predictive, Preventative, and Proactive maintenance requirements for Controls related systems.
  6. Manage Vendors and Suppliers to establish strong collaborative relationships.
  7. Develop and manage a Facility Controls and Electrical build standard in alignment with Corporate Engineering standards.
  8. Work with Reliability Area Leaders to establish programs to mentor and develop Reliability support team members.
  9. Be competent to troubleshoot equipment in the plant locally or through VPN access when required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering or a combination of 15 years of progressive manufacturing operations, equipment/system commissioning/verification knowledge, and project execution.
  • Experience in Engineering Change Control Process, and Design Reviews.
  • Experience in Level 2 Control Systems such as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
  • Experience in the implementation and integration of Robotics.
  • Experience in the implementation, integration, and calibration of instrumentation.
  • Ability to solve complex problems within a dynamic working environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven history in solving complex problems, business, analytical, information system, and computer skills.
