Job Title: Vice President, Controller & Financial Reporting

Stonewood Group Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Controller & Financial Reporting to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, including annual and interim reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support key initiatives and improvements in reporting and communications to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the growth and profitability of the business through special projects and initiatives, including supporting M&A due diligence and acquisition integration.
  • Ensure work papers, procedures, and other relevant materials supporting report production are well documented and complete.
  • Continually review and assess reporting exposures and recommend/develop reporting management strategies.
  • Develop/enhance policies & procedures, analytics, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.
  • Research, interpret, and recommend relevant accounting policies on a consolidated basis to senior management.
  • Oversee and lead divisional Controllers to manage the quarterly process, including consolidation and working with external auditors.
  • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancements of internal financial accounting policies, procedures, processes, and systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the finance department of a fast-paced, M&A driven, large multi-entity corporation.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory filing requirements of dual listed companies, US GAAP, and IFRS concepts along with 'best practices' for public companies.
  • Ability to use technical skills and sound judgment to make regular financial, personnel, and policy judgments.
