Electrical/Electronics Test Technician I Job Description

At Alstom, we're committed to creating innovative transportation solutions that move people and goods efficiently. As an Electrical/Electronics Test Technician I, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test electrical circuits, equipment, and motors in commercial products without supervision.
  • Check out and test electrical equipment for function at component, system, and train level.
  • Perform dielectric and continuity tests, as well as component system level testing activities.
  • Operate trains on test tracks without supervision.
  • Troubleshoot, correct errors, and have full knowledge of wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
  • May be required to remove and replace interior paneling to gain access, replace faulty or defective parts, re-terminate wires and cables, and apply torque connections.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records related to testing activities.
  • Instruct other Quality Resource personnel and sign out completed vehicle documentation.
Requirements:
  • A two-year diploma program in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technician.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and installation drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
