About the Role:

Central 1 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our risk management department, you will play a critical role in shaping our risk management strategies and ensuring the effective implementation of risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging risks and trends in non-financial risk management, including awareness of legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in the development and continuous improvement of non-financial risk management program frameworks and documents, including policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with lines of business to design and implement non-financial risk management initiatives and methods.
  • Advise lines of business on effective risk and control self-assessment completion.
  • Conduct research on operational losses to better understand and measure the likelihood and impact of such losses.
  • Work with lines of business to establish and improve key risk indicators that signal approaching risk events.
  • Assist in responding to non-financial risk incidents, including operational failures, compliance breaches, and reputational events.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of risk management controls and recommend updates as required.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends and patterns and utilize risk modeling techniques to predict and quantify non-financial risks.
  • Develop and maintain risk dashboards and prepare risk reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to increase awareness and understanding of non-financial risks and promote a risk-aware culture within the organization.

Requirements:

  • University degree and 4-6 years of operational risk management, enterprise risk management, and/or audit work experience in banking and/or management consulting.
  • Experience in executing or providing oversight over risk and control assessments, risk and loss events, and issue management.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with MS Office Suite of Products.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with visual analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI) and concepts.
  • Knowledge of model risk management governance and interest in data management and modeling of non-financial risks.
  • Risk management certifications (FRM, PRM) or working towards it.
  • Familiarity with GRC Systems.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate future risks and opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and complex concepts and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with team-oriented skills for working in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and ability to prioritize competing demands.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
