Job Title: Project Engineer

Join EDF Renewables North America, a leading independent power producer and service provider, as a Project Engineer. In this role, you will lead and oversee the technical coordination of projects engineering for grid-scale projects from development through construction.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate preliminary collection system, substation and transmission design, as well as electrical and civil design basis of assigned projects.
  • Help facilitate preliminary engineering design activities including geotechnical, lidar hydrology and electrical.
  • Participate in project review led by the Phase Leader (Project Development, Project Implementation).
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings associated with the project review.
  • Serve as technical interface/lead with respective teams, including Development, Permitting, Interconnection, Estimating, Procurement, Resource Assessment and Project Management teams.
  • Manage external 3rd-party engineering.
  • Collaborate externally and internally throughout projects in development, with consideration of EDF technical specifications and lessons learned.
  • Support EDF team for technology review and equipment.
  • Work closely with EDF Development on permitting requirements to ensure designs meet the needs.
  • Support EDF Developers and conduct development site visits to support site.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in electrical (preferred), civil or mechanical.
  • Good understanding of PV, Storage and/or Wind technology, preferably.
  • Previous experience of 3-5+ years on renewable energy projects is required.
  • Requires diversified knowledge of relevant codes, standards and engineering principles and practices required to produce safe, efficient, reliable, easy to operate and maintain, and cost-effective designs.
  • Experienced with various Microsoft and engineering software including AutoCAD, ETAP and/or any other power system software.
  • Experience/Knowledge with PV tooling software is preferred (PVSyst, PVCase, System Advisory Model).
