About the Role:

The Toronto-Dominion Bank (Canada) is seeking a highly skilled Energy Analyst to join its Global Energy investment banking group. As an integral part of the team, you will provide execution and technical expertise, energy sector market intelligence, and strategic technical direction as it relates to transaction mechanics and financial advisory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute detailed technical analyses supporting financial modeling, including the integration of engineering, geological, and financial information.
  • Work on a blend of divestiture, acquisition, and merger mandates for oil & gas and new energies.
  • Develop and present substantiated opinions, risk, and upside characterization, and new business opportunities that support the Global Energy franchise.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering (Professional Engineer designation or nearing designation).
  • 3-6 years of experience in the Canadian energy industry (experience in other jurisdictions is beneficial but not required).
  • Relevant experience or a strong desire to be involved in energy transition initiatives is critical.

Desirable Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the Canadian oil and gas business, with experience or familiarity with all pieces of the value chain (sub-surface, operations, facilities, downstream).
  • Solid knowledge of industry participants and marquee assets.
  • Experience in reserves and resource assessment, including familiarity with detailed technical inputs and the ability to construct and defend type curves.
  • Solid understanding of reservoir engineering and geology.
  • Understanding of the Global Energy value chain and dependencies.
  • Ability to leverage large datasets and demonstrated abilities with advanced analytics and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with various technical disciplines.
  • Basic understanding of emerging energy transition concepts, technology, and nascent industries.
