Part-Time Support Worker for Autism Companion

This part-time support worker position is designed to provide companionship to an individual with autism, focusing on building a strong and meaningful relationship.
The successful candidate will accompany the individual on outings to various locations, including Stanley Park and the local pool, while also working closely with their shared living provider. The role involves picking up the individual's car from the Spectrum office and meeting them at home before dropping them off at the end of the day.
This temporary assignment is set to cover a maternity leave for 12 months, possibly extending up to 18 months. We are seeking a dedicated and caring individual who can make a positive impact in the life of this individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing companionship and support to an individual with autism
- Accompanying the individual on outings to various locations
- Working closely with the shared living provider to ensure seamless communication and care
Requirements:
- Driver's license (Class 5) required
- Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
- Training will be provided; no specific experience required, although familiarity with autism is an asset
Location: Coquitlam
Rate of Pay: $24.15/hour
