Are you a seasoned survey professional looking for a new challenge? GeoVerra is seeking an experienced Pipeline Integrity Survey Crew Chief to join our dynamic Geomatics team in Vaughan, ON.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and performing field survey work with the support of Survey Assistants. This includes coordinating with Project Managers to review and manage project budgets, schedules, priorities, and survey methodology.

You will also be working closely with client field representatives and landowners to ensure seamless project execution. Additionally, you will prepare field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in required formats for different audiences.

Your role will involve providing guidance, training, and mentorship to Survey Assistants, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of industry best practices, efficient field processes, and procedures. You will also participate in and support the GeoVerra safety program.

We are looking for a highly organized and collaborative individual with strong communication skills and an infectious positivity that impacts and motivates all team members.

About You
  • Diploma or Degree in a post-secondary program related to surveying and geomatics or equivalent experience;
  • Strong working knowledge of survey equipment and software such as GPS and Total Stations (including Robotic);
  • Experience with Trimble equipment and software, laser scanning, and line locating considered an asset;
  • Experience working on pipelines and/or pipeline integrity preferred;
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a field environment;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to produce accurate and legible field notes;
  • The ability to develop and motivate survey staff and work well in a team environment;
  • An aptitude for delivering projects on time and budget;
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract;
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
