Join the Government of Nunavut as a Hospital Clinical Pharmacist and contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in the Qikiqtani General Hospital and Kivalliq health center.
About the Role:The Hospital Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing direct patient care to all patients at the Qikiqtani General Hospital and Kivalliq health center. This includes assessing patients' drug therapy needs, identifying and resolving drug therapy problems, and providing specialized clinical pharmacy services such as medication reconciliation and pharmacokinetic/therapeutic drug evaluation/monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care to all patients at the Qikiqtani General Hospital and Kivalliq health center
- Assess patients' drug therapy needs through chart review and interpretation of clinical and laboratory findings
- Identify and resolve drug therapy problems using a patient-focused process
- Provide specialized clinical pharmacy services such as medication reconciliation and pharmacokinetic/therapeutic drug evaluation/monitoring
- Communicate with patients, physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure effective patient care
- Recognized Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree
- Three (3) years' experience providing pharmacist services in a clinical setting
- Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada certification
- Licensed by or eligible for licensing by the registrar of Nunavut
- Registration in a Province or Territory in addition to Nunavut

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English, and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut's official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut, and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
This is a term position until August 31, 2024. Current indeterminate Government of Nunavut employees may be offered a competitive transfer assignment for the duration of the term if they are deemed to be the successful candidate, however this is subject to managerial approval.
