Structural Component Technician

Position Summary:
The Wohl Group is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical structures or parts with great precision. Your work will provide the foundation for strong infrastructure, making you an essential part of our team.

A successful Welder must be able to operate potentially hazardous equipment safely and efficiently. They must also have a good understanding of different types of metal and their properties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  1. 1. Read blueprints and drawings, taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  1. 2. Set up components for welding according to specifications, cutting material with powered saws to match measurements.
  1. 3. Operate angle grinders to prepare parts that need to be welded.
  1. 4. Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces.
  1. 5. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  1. 6. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.
  1. 7. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to detect flaws.
  1. 8. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.


Requirements:
  1. 1. Proven experience as a Welder.
  1. 2. Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, STICK).
  1. 3. Experience in pressure vessel welding to 3000 psi.
  1. 4. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  1. 5. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.).
  1. 6. Experience welding hydraulic cylinder rods.
  1. 7. Experience with alloy steels 1045 and 1026 and welding 4140 with pre-heat.
  1. 8. Proficient in English.
  1. 9. Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.
  1. 10. Professional Certification (e.g., a welding certificate) is a plus.
