Job Title: Bilingual Program Director

Join the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) as a Bilingual Program Director and play a key role in advancing the country's automotive research platform. This is a unique opportunity to lead a collaborative research program that contributes to the transition from carbon-based combustion to Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEVs) supply chains.

About the Role

As a Bilingual Program Director, you will be responsible for developing the program definition and approach in consultation with internal and external partners. You will build and lead multi-disciplinary, collaborative research teams to operationalize a program that will directly support the research and technology needs of the Canadian automotive industry and the broader innovation needs of Canada's economy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead collaborative research programs with large teams
  • Manage financial and human resources
  • Establish and manage partnerships with the automotive industry
  • Apply the principles, tools, and practices of administrative, financial, and human resource management
  • Lead, plan, monitor, and re-align studies, projects, or strategic initiatives within a fast-paced and complex environment
Requirements
  • Graduate university degree in engineering or a science field relevant to the position
  • Experience working in the Canadian and international context around program-specific technologies
  • Extensive and recent experience in providing strategic advice and counsel to senior-level executives
  • Significant business experience within the relevant scientific and technological domains
  • Significant experience in establishing and managing partnerships with the automotive industry
  • Expert knowledge of research and technology management, including strategic planning
  • Expert knowledge of the relevant field and its applications in a broad range of sectors
  • Knowledge of policies and sound practices related to contract management, financial management, human resources, and procurement management
