Job Description for Carpenter and Construction Specialist
  • Job Summary
  • This is a seasonal Carpenter and Construction Specialist position at Omega Formwork Inc. where you will work on various construction projects.
  • As a Carpenter and Construction Specialist, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
  • You will also be building foundations, installing floor beams, laying subflooring, and erecting walls and roof systems.
  • Requirements
  • Education and Experience
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience is an asset.
  • Work Environment
  • You will work at heights, in noisy, dusty conditions.
  • Work Setting
  • This position involves working in construction at various locations, including commercial, industrial, institutional, residential, and roads and bridges.
  • Responsibilities
  • Tasks
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Certificates and Licenses
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) training, working at heights training, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Carpenter Red Seal Certificate, and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
  • Working Conditions
  • Physically demanding work requires handling heavy loads, standing for long periods, and working in tight deadlines.
  • Transportation and Travel
  • Own transportation is required.
