Aitchison College of Technology & Health Sciences Inc. is seeking a skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, calculating fixed assets and depreciation, and maintaining general ledgers and financial statements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of accounting software and systems, including MS Access and MS Excel. You will also have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge in areas such as financial analysis and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and financial planning and control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Reconcile accounts

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
