Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Pathologist to join our team at the Reactivation Care Centre, North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support.

About the Role

This is a part-time permanent position working 8 hour shifts, day shifts including weekends. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, and experience working with adult patients presenting with swallowing and/or communication disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat adult patients with swallowing and/or communication difficulties using evidence-based practice
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families/caregivers, and the interprofessional team
  • Maintain accurate client records and workload data according to program, hospital, and College standards
  • Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Participate in education programs for patients, families, and staff
  • Act as a preceptor to SLP students and supervise volunteers
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • A Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from a recognized academic institution
  • Registration with CASLPO in good standing
  • Current knowledge of swallowing and communication disorders, particularly in the geriatric population
  • Demonstrated clinical experience with adults, preferably in a rehabilitation setting
