The Ontario Tech University invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer position. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level within the parameters of the course description.

This position requires a proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies, as well as excellent communication skills to maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, and students.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellent teaching contributions with a proven aptitude for teaching at the pre-service and/or K-12 teaching level. They will also have experience working in a collaborative environment and be able to effectively manage course delivery, marking assignments, and responding to student enquiries.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level
  • Develop and deliver course material and assignments
  • Grade all course material and assignments
  • Be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
  • Master's degree in education is required
  • PhD is an asset

Experience:

  • Successful teaching within the K to 6 classroom with hands-on coding, computational thinking, and digital communication
  • Successful infusion of digital technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools for, as, and of learning in the classroom
  • Demonstrated evidence-based, or research-informed practice
