About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Histology Specialist to join our team at Charles River Laboratories. As a key member of our research team, you will play a crucial role in preparing tissues for microscopic analysis.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery, development, and safe manufacture of new drug therapies. You will work closely with our team to ensure the smooth running of our research, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing histology activities such as trimming, decalcification, processing, embedding, cutting, scanning, and staining;
  • Preparing necessary materials requested by procedures;
  • Operating necessary laboratory equipment;
  • Preparing chemical reagents;
  • Preparing shipment and packing of specimens.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Collegial Diploma in Science, Biotechnology, or any other related field, and experience working in a laboratory setting. A high level of physical fitness is also required, as you will be lifting up to 20 kg and performing other physically demanding tasks.

About the Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $53,000 per year, plus additional benefits including a 3 weeks' vacation & 5 sick/personal days per year, paid development training, employee and family assistance program, access to a doctor and various health professionals, and many social activities.
