Job Title: Registered Nurse IC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at the Labrador Health Centre and the Charles S. Curtis Memorial Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with the nursing team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on breastfeeding, labor, and delivery, and post-natal care.
  • Monitor and care for patients during labor and delivery, and post-natal periods.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the improvement of patient care.
  • Document patient information and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer medication and participate in medication reconciliation.
  • Represent nursing on various committees and participate in quality assurance initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program.
  • Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL).
  • 2 years Acute Care nursing experience within the last 5 years.
  • Obstetrical Education Program or willingness to complete within the designated timeframe.
  • Successful completion of NRP or willingness to complete within the designated timeframe.
  • Breastfeeding education/course.
  • ACLS, TNCC, and Medevac courses are considered an asset.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR).
Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package, including a premium locum rate of an additional $25/hour for hours worked in the locum position. Other benefits in accordance with the RNUNL Collective Agreement.
