Mechanical Designer of Space Products

About the Role:
MDA Space is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal. As a Mechanical Designer of Space Products, you will work with a multi-disciplinary engineering team to develop antennas or structures used on state-of-the-art satellites.
Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical components for antennas, payloads, or space electronics units
- Understand client requirements and propose concepts that meet those needs
- Select/design components according to constraints and integrate concepts from electrical, material, structural, and thermal engineering disciplines into a 3D model
- Develop/revise fabrication drawings, assembly, and parts lists, and evaluate system costs and establish schedules
- Monitor component suppliers' activities and support integration and testing of components into higher-level assemblies
- Develop mass budgets and present concepts to the customer
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design
- Good communication skills and knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
- Bilingual (English/French) and experience in the field of mechanical design

Security Clearance:
