The Morrison Hershfield office in Whitehorse is dedicated to delivering high-quality engineering and environmental services to our clients across northern BC and Yukon. We are invested in the Yukon community and are committed to maintaining a strong presence in Whitehorse.

Our goal is to develop safe, reliable, and sustainable infrastructure to support residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments. From concept development to operations and management, we provide a comprehensive range of land development services. Our expertise includes designing systems for traffic, stormwater, potable water, and wastewater management, as well as power and communication transmission.

We are seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist/Environmental Consultant to join our innovative team in the Whitehorse office. The ideal candidate will be a key member of our growing geo-environmental team, with a strong focus on northern environmental practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and strategic leadership in the growth of geo-environmental capacity within the Whitehorse Environmental Team.
  • Lead the design and delivery of geo-environmental assessments of all scales.
  • Peer review of technical work.
  • Mentorship and coaching of staff.
  • Establish a reputation for high-level geo-environmental expertise and specialized services, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and build relationships with new clients.
  • Create winning proposals.
  • Knowledge of geo-environmental specifics, including soils and rock classification, borehole logging, and geo-environmental data management and analysis.
  • Strong conceptual skills in evaluating geological and hydrogeological systems.
  • Direction of report writing and preparation of specifications and estimates.
  • Project management of projects with small to moderate scope and complexity.
Qualifications:
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation or eligibility to register with EGBC/EY.
  • B.A.Sc. or M.A.Sc. in Environmental Engineering or Geoscience.
  • 10 years or more of relevant experience in geo-environmental practice, either as a specialist or generalist.
  • Experience working with various levels of government and the private sector.
  • Direct experience with the regulatory environment in Yukon.
  • Proven track record of success in delivering cost-effective solutions to geo-environmental-related projects.
  • Experience in planning, design, costing, and management of geo-environmental projects.
  • Strong interest in growing and developing the company's geo-environmental practice through coaching and technical mentoring of staff.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a strong team environment.
