Job Summary
BC Ferries is seeking a highly skilled Financial Risk Management Specialist to join our Finance Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's long-term financial sustainability through the development and implementation of financial risk management policies and strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Risk Management: Provide strategic and tactical advice as the company's financial risk management and treasury specialist, overseeing asset and liability management programs.
- Relationship Management: Develop and manage relationships with banking groups, credit agencies, external funding sources, carbon credit markets, and suppliers.
- Cash and Debt Management: Responsible for all cash, debt, investment, derivative activity, and carbon credit generation and execution.
- Funding Diversification: Diversify funding sources and long-term debt program, including liquidity, alternative funding, and carbon credit opportunities and long-term forecasting.
- ESG Financial Framework: Develop and manage a long-term ESG financial framework, including ESG financing.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coach a professional team in the delivery of best financial risk management practices, including developing and promoting corporate culture and engagement in alignment with goals and objectives.
Requirements
Education and Experience
You have completed an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or Master's degree in Economics is an asset. A CFA, CTP-AFP, or CPA designation is preferred. You also bring 7-9 years of progressive experience in Finance or Treasury.
Key Skills and Qualifications
You are a proven strategic problem-solver with a strong understanding of debt capital markets and capital structure strategy, financial forecasting, and financial risk management.
What We Offer
Compensation and Benefits
The target salary range is $155,100 to $193,300 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience, and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on an exceptional basis.
