Job Title: Prepper - Evening

Carfair Composites is a leading manufacturer of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) products, with a strong presence in North America. We are seeking a skilled Prepper to join our team in Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA), and Gillett, WI (USA).

Job Summary:

The Prepper is responsible for preparing fiberglass parts for painting and finishing using hand tools, including orbital sanders. This role involves ensuring that finished goods meet quality standards and are ready for shipping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare materials and molds for production
  • Buff and sand fiberglass parts using orbital sanders
  • Follow safety procedures and quality standards
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet goals and deadlines
  • Inspect parts for any issues using rulers and visual checks
  • Perform structural repairs to fiberglass components
  • Operate and maintain tools like spray guns, drills, sanders, and polishers
  • Support Lean and 5S initiatives to keep the workplace efficient
  • Document non-conformities and submit reports to authorized personnel
Requirements:
  • Composite manufacturing experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with pneumatic, electric, and manual hand tools
  • Ability to handle heavy loads (minimum of 50 lbs) and stand for long hours
  • Skilled with hands-on tasks
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
