The Connect 6ix project is a significant undertaking for our company, where we are working on Toronto's new Ontario Line subway. As part of this project, we are looking for a skilled professional to fill the role of Risk and Variation Coordinator.

Job Description

Variations (Change)

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to implement the Variation process with our CJV team members, ensuring that all variations are properly assessed and documented in a timely manner.
  • The ideal candidate will work closely with project teams to anticipate and address potential issues arising from Variations.
  • Collaboration with the Project Control Manager and Contract Manager is essential to provide timely submissions and information to assist negotiations with the client.
  • The coordinator will update the project budget and schedule accordingly once each Variation is confirmed with the client.
  • A strong understanding of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Familiarity with change management control is also essential.

Risks

  • The successful candidate will identify, assess, and prioritize project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaboration with project stakeholders to develop and implement risk management plans addressing regulatory compliance, environmental impacts, and contractual risks is necessary.
  • The coordinator will track risk indicators and analyze based on project progress, providing updates to the Risk Lead and ensuring mitigation strategies are adjusted when needed.
  • A strong ability to facilitate communication between project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment and successful delivery of the project is required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project controls (estimate/cost and schedule), risk management, quantity survey, or specialized position supporting or managing the change management process.
  • Solid knowledge of construction project lifecycles and processes.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues at all levels of the company.
  • High level of personal motivation and ability to consult with other members of the Technical, Schedule, Estimating, and Construction teams in a proactive, productive, and collaborative manner.
