Job Title: Bricklayer

Rio Contracting Inc. is seeking a skilled Bricklayer to join our team. As a Bricklayer, you will be responsible for laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build residential and commercial structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry units to build walls, chimneys, and other structures.
  • Estimate materials and tools required for projects.
  • Lay bricks and stone to provide veneer facing.
  • Construct and install prefabricated masonry units.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations.
  • Build patios, garden walls, and other decorative installations.
  • Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Cut and trim bricks and concrete blocks to specification using hand and power tools.
  • Instruct apprentices.
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 35 hours per week.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
  • Physically demanding.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
