Java Architect Job Description

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Java Architect to join our team. As a Java Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive solution architectures that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • Develop detailed documentation for solution designs, including diagrams and specifications.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate them into solution designs where appropriate.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and present solution designs.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in Java development, including API, Java Microservices, and event-based software development.
  • Extensive experience with designing solutions and DevOps.
  • University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient experience with database systems, data access methods, source code management, build automation systems, test-driven development, and test frameworks.

Working Arrangements:

This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client office in Toronto, ON. We believe hybrid work is the way forward, and we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible.
