Job Summary

This position involves working in various settings, which may require physical stamina due to the size of the buildings. The job requires flexibility to work both day and overnight shifts. The successful candidate will be able to provide exceptional customer service, conduct proactive patrols, and address policy breaches in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service and support, and maintain effective relationships with clients and patrons.
  • Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches, and document any concerns.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to security alarms and emergencies.
  • De-escalate crisis situations, provide support, and liaise with emergency services as needed.
  • Exercise crowd control and remove unauthorized individuals.
  • Prepare clear and detailed reports, including incident, emergency, liability, and daily reports.
  • Provide first aid and medical assistance when required.
  • Utilize communication tools to share site activities.
  • Handle lost and found items and inquiries.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a valid Alberta security license.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong observational skills.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to walk 18/20km and navigate stairs.

Education and Certification

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Security License.
  • An unrestricted Class 5 driver's license is considered an asset.
