About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Manager to join our team at Georama Growers. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our vertical farming system, ensuring the highest quality crop production and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate and Maintain Crop Quality
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize crop yields and quality
    • Monitor and control environmental factors to ensure optimal growing conditions
  • Lead and Manage Staff
    • Supervise and train staff in crop production, maintenance, and harvesting
    • Develop and implement staff schedules and workflows to ensure efficient operations
  • Manage Inventory and Supplies
    • Order and manage inventory of seeds, fertilizers, and other supplies
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and optimize resource usage
  • Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies
    • Develop and implement marketing plans to promote our products and services
    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify new business opportunities
  • Ensure Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary education in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a vertical farming or greenhouse environment
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Knowledge of crop production, maintenance, and harvesting
    • Ability to develop and implement marketing strategies
