Job Overview

We're seeking a skilled Draftsman-Designer to create equipment drawings for our engineering department. The design and drawing process involves multiple levels of participation. The successful candidate will actively participate in project development, calculations, and budget adherence, working closely with the engineering manager until customer approval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, and material lists for approval and fabrication.
  • Conduct mechanical concepting, including protocol, calculation, and compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Establish material lists for equipment fabrication.
  • Perform simple design calculations under the supervision of an engineer.
  • Conduct dimensional surveys of existing equipment at customer sites on an occasional basis.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures.

Qualification Requirements

  • College diploma in a mechanical or drafting discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of drafting experience.
  • Strong work attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in group settings.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks software.
  • ERP experience is an asset.
  • Able to prioritize, multitask, and problem-solve.
  • Strong time management, communication (written and oral), and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees.
