Senior Architect Job Description

The National Capital Commission (NCC) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join its team. As a Senior Architect, you will play a key role in the design and construction of various projects, including commercial, residential, agricultural, and infrastructure portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop architectural studies, designs, plans, and specifications documents for NCC projects.
  • Provide technical advice to internal and external stakeholders, including other NCC employees, partners, government departments, and contractors.
  • Manage design processes for entire projects, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Conduct predevelopment assessments, including scouting, site selection, functional programming, and occupancy requirements.
  • Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines to resolve design issues.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both orally and in writing, and deliver effective presentations.
  • Manage contracts and monitor the work of external consultants and contractors.
Requirements:
  • A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in Architecture.
  • Five to eight years of experience holding progressively significant responsibilities in Architecture.
  • Experience managing design processes, conducting predevelopment assessments, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in heritage rehabilitation and conservation projects.
  • Experience with performance-based sustainable design standards and projects.
