Executive Chef Leader for Sushi Restaurant

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our team at SUSHI ZUKI. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and supervision of kitchen staff.
About the Role:- The ideal candidate will have 5 years or more of experience in a similar role, with expertise in sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine.
- You will be responsible for creating new recipes, demonstrating new cooking techniques, and instructing cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
- Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising cooks and other kitchen staff, as well as recruiting and hiring new staff members.
- You will also be responsible for requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, planning menus, and ensuring food meets quality standards.
- In addition, you will provide diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees, as well as cultural competency training and awareness training for Indigenous workers.
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and supervision of kitchen staff

- Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff, recruit and hire new staff members
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, plan menus, and ensure food meets quality standards

- 5 years or more of experience in a similar role
- Expertise in sushi preparation techniques and Japanese cuisine
- Strong leadership skills, ability to supervise and motivate staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure
- Physically demanding, able to stand for extended periods
- A competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
