Job Title: Sr.Specialist / Expert - Cloud Infrastructure

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Colgate-Palmolive. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing cloud solutions to meet the needs of our global business.

The Role

As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. You will work closely with finance teams to optimize cloud spending, provide insights into cost management, and help forecast future cloud expenditures.

You will also provide technical leadership in cloud architecture, ensuring that solutions are designed for optimal deployment, security, performance, and high availability. Additionally, you will develop and maintain a balanced cloud governance framework based on industry standards, ensuring compliance with security protocols and other regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test cloud solutions to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud strategies
  • Work closely with finance teams to optimize cloud spending and provide cost management insights
  • Provide technical leadership in cloud architecture and ensure solutions are designed for optimal deployment, security, performance, and high availability
  • Develop and maintain a balanced cloud governance framework based on industry standards
  • Evaluate and implement proof-of-concepts for emerging cloud services and technologies
  • Drive cloud adoption and innovation by exploring new cloud services and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
  • Collaborate with teams on new and existing business/technology solutions, ensuring alignment with established standards and contributing to long-term cloud strategy
  • Perform regular cloud cost reviews and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce waste
  • Mentor and support teams in understanding cloud technologies, standard methodologies, and operational processes
  • Stay informed of industry-wide trends and their potential impact or application to the business, ensuring the organization's cloud strategy remains forward-looking and innovative
Requirements
  • At least 4-6 years of experience in Cloud Engineering
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
  • Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing capabilities and limitations, business drivers, virtualization technologies, Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service Cloud delivery models
  • A strong ability to learn new technologies
  • Thorough understanding of system and infrastructure management in the Cloud environment (Linux/Windows servers, firewalls, load balancers, hypervisors, storage, monitoring, security, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and services (GCP, AWS, etc.)
  • Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Kubernetes Engine. Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, and Lambda is acceptable and can be considered as a good foundation for the required GCP expertise
  • Proficiency in configuring and handling virtual networks, including VPC, subnets, and firewall rules
  • Experience handling infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform)
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, etc. for automating cloud operations
  • Command of software automation production systems (GitHub, Selenium, etc.)
  • Good understanding of security principles and standard methodologies, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Engineering
  • Google Cloud Architect within 1 Year (Preferred) or AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional
  • Experience in architecting, implementing, and handling multi-cloud environments
  • Understanding of infrastructure correlations with knowledge of servers, networking, AD, security, etc.
  • Proficiency in handling and optimizing cloud costs using tools like Google Cloud's Cost Management tools or AWS Cost Explorer and other Finops methodologies
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Understanding of or ability to design solutions across on-premise and multiple public cloud tiers (hybrid)
