Millwright Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks on heavy machinery and components to ensure optimal functionality and operational efficiency.
- Maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Execute planned preventative maintenance to production equipment as well as other services and utilities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with machinery and equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Repair and Installation: Conduct repairs, replacements, and installations of mechanical components, including bearings, shafts, gears, and conveyor systems, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory levels, to track maintenance schedules and equipment history.
- Communicate with the rest of the maintenance team and plant personnel when resolving problems.
- Coordinate with other members of the maintenance team, as well as production and engineering staff, to optimize equipment performance and address maintenance-related concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in maintenance techniques, attending training sessions and workshops as required.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid certificate of competency/license issued by the province of Ontario in the field of "Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) with certificate of Apprenticeship".
- Minimum 3 years of experience as Maintenance Millwright/Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety.
- Must have knowledge of plant safety policies and procedures.
- Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. This includes above and below shoulder level.
- Basic Computer Skills - MS Office components and Adobe Acrobat
- Fundamental understanding of Preventative Maintenance Programs [CMMS]
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot various type of industrial equipment from basic to complex.
- Ability to read equipment blueprints/schematics.
- The ability to safely operate power / hand tools and all related safety equipment.
- Available to work all shifts: Weekday days: 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR Weekday afternoons: 4:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m. (Mon – Thurs) OR Weekend days: 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours) OR Weekend afternoons: 5:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. (Fri, Sat, Sun; paid for 40 hours)
