Job Description

Global Pharma Tek is seeking a highly skilled Linux Operations Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational support and administration for our Unix Services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, RHEL Cluster Services, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible, Nagios, Git, Tripwire Enterprise, and other related technologies.
  • Monitor, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems within the RHEL infrastructure and environment.
  • Work within and adhere to our Change/Incident/Problem Management systems and processes.
  • Assist with the implementation of new technologies, services, and upgrades.
  • Patch server OS and hardware in accordance with our patching cadence targets.
  • Represent the team and technologies as a subject matter expert in meetings, consultations, and engagements.
  • Provide bi-weekly progress reports to the Client Contract Manager.
  • Notify the Client Contract Manager of any issues, delays, or time/cost overruns.
  • Provide a written report detailing work completed, issues outstanding, and lessons learned at the end of the project.
  • Escalate operational issues with responsible application owners.
Requirements
  • Experience in leading multi-discipline teams in business transformation initiatives.
  • Application portfolio management techniques and business process re-engineering expertise.
  • Effective communication with executives and senior management on changes to business operations.
  • Day-to-day operational support and administration for Unix Services team technologies.
  • Resource management and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
