Senior Project Manager

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Planning, the Senior Project Manager plays a key role in the strategic development and implementation of current and long-range master infrastructure planning and asset management for the City of Richmond.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement capital plans for infrastructure replacement and upgrades, including sanitary sewer, water supply, roads, and flood protection networks.
  • Administer agreements, contracts, policies, and bylaws related to infrastructure development.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and implementation of the City's flood protection program, including administering the program's long-range roadmap.
  • Supervise and manage divisional staff, including Project Managers/Project Coordinators, to ensure effective project delivery and prioritization.
  • Represent the City at external committees and manage budgets and financial statements associated with the Capital program.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and project management, including design, construction, consultant administration, contract administration, and construction inspection.
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering with Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials recommended.
  • Registration with the relevant professional association in British Columbia (EGBC, ASTTBC) required.
Working Conditions:

Duties are mostly performed in an office environment, with some construction site visits and inspections. Some field work may be required.
